Austin’s zest for life was evident from his early years. A graduate of ELCO High School’s class of 2019, Austin excelled both academically and athletically. He was a dedicated member of the football and wrestling teams, earning recognition with the prestigious Iron Man trophy. His pursuit of knowledge led him to Shippensburg University, where he pursued a degree in Business with a minor in Exercise Science. Austin was also an active member of the Theta Xi Fraternity, where he fostered lifelong friendships.
Passions and Pursuits:
Beyond academics and athletics, Austin immersed himself in various pursuits that brought him joy and fulfillment. During his high school years, he served as a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), showcasing his commitment to serving others. Summers were spent as a certified lifeguard and at Kountry Kraft, where he honed his skills and work ethic. In college, Austin worked as a security guard and at UPS, demonstrating his dedication to his studies and financial independence.
Master Diver and Adventurer:
Austin’s greatest passion was diving, a pursuit that allowed him to explore the wonders of the underwater world. He attained his Master Diving Certification while interning at Sailfish Scuba in Key Largo during the summer of 2023, a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for exploration.
Cherished Memories and Hobbies:
Austin embraced life to the fullest, enjoying activities such as World War II reenactments, hunting, shooting, and daily workouts at the gym. His enthusiasm for these hobbies was infectious, bringing joy to those who had the pleasure of sharing in his adventures.

Austin leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. He is survived by his parents, Karl and Dee Funk, along with cherished family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
